Art is much more than making something that looks good. It gives children a way to explore ideas, express themselves, communicate, experiment, make choices and experience the satisfaction of creating something of their own.
For some children, art provides a voice when words are difficult. For others, it can build confidence, encourage curiosity, develop relationships and create a sense of belonging.
Art supports the whole child-Children don’t learn in isolation. Their emotional wellbeing, relationships, confidence and sense of belonging can all influence how they engage with school and learning.

Art can give children different ways to communicate thoughts, feelings and experiences. Not every child finds it easy to express themselves through words, and creative activities can provide another language.
